Frulato Frozen Fruit Desserts target consumers with allergies

Food maker Frulato has rolled out a frozen dessert that is made from 90 per cent fruits.

The new dessert is vegan, free from dairy, gluten, soy and GMO ingredients and has no refined sugar. The company said it is also 99.9-per-cent fat free and contains just 62 calories. Frulato has prebiotics, is Kosher and locally made in Australia. 

Frulato founder Cara Besser had allergies and intolerances, which led her to creating a frozen dessert that satisfied her sweet cravings and that she felt comfortable giving to her kids.

Besser also spent 20 years working in health and community services, where she regularly saw the impact of unhealthy diets on the community and thought she could help to make a difference.

The new dessert is sold in selected specialty and independent grocery stores across Australia.
