IGA launches community program after consumer research

Supermarket banner group IGA has rolled out a Locals Matter Community Program that it says will provide shoppers with tips on healthy living and the environment, as well as ways they can support their local communities.

Shoppers can subscribe to exclusive offers and content, promotions and inspiring tips and tricks.

IGA conducted a consumer study under the ‘Aisle Chat’ research to identify what matters to shoppers. The research found out consumers prioritise social issues on the environment (71 per cent), thriving communities (66 per cent) and healthy living (63 per cent).

“The Locals Matter Community Program is an extension of this vital support and provides the wider IGA community one place to go for the information they need on what matters the most to them. We are excited to continue to build on this throughout this year as we continue to support our local communities,” said Tracy Wilson, GM marketing, Metcash.

Membership is free and gives access healthy recipes, community initiatives, exclusive content and promotions available on the website and across social-media channels. Shoppers can get healthy eating tips and tricks from IGA nutritionists Anna and Alex from @thebitingtruth. There will also be tips on waste reduction and IGA also partnered with its suppliers for other contents and promotions.
