Veganz collaborates with Drakes to launch plant-based pizza

Berlin-founded brand Veganz has teamed up with Drakes supermarket chain to introduce the first frozen vegan pizza in Queensland.

Featuring a thin-crispy base and Italian taste, the pizza is free from milk or animal-based ingredients. The company says it wants to make people not only enjoy the pizza but also support viability in their daily activities.

The packaging is also designed to be environmentally friendly in order to limit the negative effects on water sources, air and contribute to the preservation of the rainforest and animal welfare.

“At Drakes we are committed to providing products our customers want,” said Tim Cartwright, GM fresh foods at Drakes.

“We have had a lot of requests for vegan and plant-based products during the past two years and now these vegan and plant-based items make up one of our fastest-growing categories. We believe this is not a fad but a lifestyle trend that will continue well into the future.”

The pizzas are on sale at Drakes stores or in selected Woolworths, Foodland and IGAs along with the Vegan Grocery Store in Sydney and Melbourne, and online.
