Coca Cola Australia launches first alcoholic beverage

Coca Cola Australia is making a foray into the liquor market with the launch of its first alcoholic beverage range, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer.

Inspired by the Topo Chico mineral water brand, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer is a combination of sparkling water and alcohol with a dash of natural flavour. The range features three flavours – Tangy Lemon Lime, Pineapple Twist, and Strawberry Guava.

Topo Chico Hard Seltzer comes in sleek 355ml cans, each containing 4.7 per cent alcohol by volume (ABV), and are gluten-free with no artificial sweeteners.

“We have a fantastic product in Topo Chico Hard Seltzer which is backed by fans in Latin America and Europe,” said Robert Priest, VP at Coca Cola South Pacific. “We’re confident Australians will love the light, refreshing taste.”

The launch is part of the company’s strategy to expand its portfolio of brands to respond to different consumer expectations and needs. Coca Cola Australia’s new alcohol range is available in packs of four from select Dan Murphy’s, BWS and independent liquor stores.

“With the warmer months fast approaching, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer’s flavours of fiesta are for Australians looking to kick back and enjoy themselves for the summer,” said Priest.
