AVL Wines has introduced a new global employee benefits packages, coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Month, that it believes sets an industry benchmark.

AVL Wines owns the McGuigan Wines, Tempus Two, Nepenthe and Barossa Valley Wine Company brands and is listed on the ASX.

The company’s new benefit package will cover paid parental leave, super/pension payments on parental leave, flexible working, mental health and wellbeing, purchased annual leave, sabbaticals, and career breaks.

“Companies, more than ever, need to invest in their greatest asset, people,” said Craig Garvin, CEO at AVL Wines. “Discretionary effort makes the strategic difference in a very competitive world.”

The program, benchmarked against the Drinks Association, Diversity and Inclusion Scorecard, will be rolled out globally.

“We are passionate about creating an inclusive culture where our employees feel they can bring their whole self to work and are valued,” said Natasha Cahill, people and culture director at AVL Wines. “Once you succeed in creating an inclusive culture, you will naturally drive diversity and attract and retain the best talent.”

Besides the package, AVL Wine has also collaborated with charity partner SolarBuddy to encourage employees to join a Good for the Solar fitness challenge, where they will complete 15 minutes of movement each day as a part of individual participation as well as contribution to the collective fundraising to support energy poverty in Australia and internationally.
