Endeavour Group is rolling out low & no-alcohol sections to help Aussies moderate their alcohol intake to avoid risky drinking.
The program, under the partnership with DrinkWise, will be initially introduced across selected Dan Murphy’s and BWS stores in Queensland before launching in other states. The sections will be organised in the front and centre of those stores.
“We are seeing an acceleration in the recent trend of customers seeking more ways to moderate their drinking,” said Steve Donohue, CEO & MD at Endeavour Group. “We couldn’t be prouder to help raise awareness of these low-alcohol alternatives in partnership with DrinkWise, and to assist our customers to make responsible choices.”
Donohue said the program starts as the group has seen a surging demand in the number of people purchasing lower and zero alcohol options. Meanwhile, according to Endeavour Group, a third of Australians have mitigated their alcohol consumption by using low and non-alcoholic options during the pandemic.
“Almost six-out-of-10 alcohol drinkers aged 18-to-24 years old are looking to cut down their alcohol consumption,” said Simon Strahan, CEO of DrinkWise. “This new DrinkWise research highlights the positive impact that zero, low and mid-strength products can have in helping to reduce alcohol consumption.”
