Amazonia opens Qld R&D centre to expand its organic offer

Australian holistic and organic food company, Amazonia, has opened an R&D centre on the Gold Coast to expand its organic product range in the country.

Dubbed ‘Amazonia Innovation Lab’, the 1450sqm centre is set to become the global headquarters for the business and will be designed for sustainable experimentation to create new environmentally friendly nutritional formulations.

The centre will allow the company to grow its product range to close to 80 and add plant-based alt-meats to its offering.

“This site represents the hopes and aspirations of Amazonia as we seek to establish ourselves as Australia’s leading innovator in health in a site that allows us to control our destiny,” said Yohann Azlee, CEO of Amazonia.

Situated at Arundel on the Gold Coast, Amazonia’s Innovation Lab fit-out will follow sustainable standards, including 5-Star Green Star Design with the Green Building Council of Australia.

“Our Lab will provide us with the ability to provide a centre that houses a number of the community forums, industry and educational partnerships we are developing,” Azlee added.

“The lab will allow us to build our business while at the same time growing our impact.”
