HiLands Foods launches Fijian Lami Kava in Australia

Sydney-based food-distribution company HiLands Foods has collaborated with Fijian brand Lami Kava to introduce a range of premium quality kava to the Australian market.

The brand uses piper methysticum roots to produce its herbal kava, which is produced in both powder and raw-root forms.

The partnership with HiLands Foods will help establish a network of distributors and wholesalers for the product throughout the country. The company also wants to ensure supply to regional areas as well.

Raj Bachu, GM of HiLands Foods said the company has been overwhelmed by the response of stockists and consumers.

“There are inquiries from as far as Broome in Western Australia, Tasmania, and northern Queensland. With all the preorders, our first shipment is sold out before it arrives,” said Bachu.

Lami Kava is listed with Metcash/IGA group and FoodWorks outlets in NSW.
