Tribe Breweries has unveiled Australia’s first isotonic non-alcoholic drink, called Wilde Isotonic.

The company says the drink – which is brewed like regular beer – helps replenish lost electrolytes and contains essential vitamins such as vitamin B1, B3 and B9. It is also vegan friendly, has zero preservatives and contains 90 calories per can.

The brand claims that due to its natural tonicity, it will be absorbed faster into the bloodstream and has 50-per-cent less sugar than standard sports drinks.

Cameron MacFarlane, marketing director at Tribe Breweries, said mindful drinking is no longer a fad.

“We saw an opportunity to create something truly unique through Wilde Isotonic, which we ensured would taste just like a typical Pale Ale, but work in reverse to replenish and rehydrate you.”

Roland Thiemann, head of innovation at Tribe Breweries said: “Isotonic beverages have equal concentrations of solutes and water, as blood and cells, therefore can be absorbed more easily by the body.”

The product retails for $15.99 for a four-pack and can be purchased from Dan Murphy’s nationally.
