Drinks retailer Endeavour Group has appointed Agnieszka (Agi) Pfeiffer-Smith as the new MD of its retail chain Dan Murphy’s.

Group CEO, Steve Donohue, described Pfeiffer-Smith as an experienced executive leader, with a proven track record of combining strategic, commercial and operational expertise, with a focus on supporting teams to deliver better businesses.

Smith began her career in Boston Consulting Group in 1998 and worked through several commercial roles in large corporates and private equity firms. She has more than 10 years of experience in retail and other industries complemented by leadership roles at Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety and David Jones.

In her current role as chief strategy officer for Endeavour Group, she was instrumental in developing and implementing an initial strategy following the demerger from Woolworths last year.

“Agi’s deep understanding of the Dan Murphy’s business and the broader Endeavour Group strategy, ensures she is ideally positioned to lead,” said Donohue.

She will work closely with outgoing MD Alex Freudmann to ensure a smooth transition in the coming months. Freudmann is returning to the UK to take up a new role as head of Marks & Spencer’s food division.
