Irish stout brand Guinness has launched a weather-sensitive promotion, Guinness Weather, in celebration of Australia’s coldest month: Customers can get a free pint of Guinness Draught as soon as the temperature drops to the ideal beer consumption temperature.

The brewery shared that the best temperature to pour a pint of stout is five to seven degrees, so the promotion activates when the temperature drops to between those points outside.

“Everyone thinks about Guinness on St Patrick’s Day, but the campaign aims to remind drinkers that winter is the best time to enjoy a Guinness and a great time to get people together to enjoy a pint in their local pubs,” said Ed Stening, connections director at Guinness.

The brewery’s website hosts an ‘official Guinness Digital Thermometer’, which gauges the temperature on the border of NSW and Victoria.

The promotion will run throughout July or until supplies last.
