Seeking to offer consumers healthier snacking options, PepsiCo has launched a new range of corn chips with 40 per cent less salt* and potato chips with 25 per cent less fat**.

Available only at Woolworths stores nationwide, the new brand Simply comes in four flavours: Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper Potato Chips, Sour Cream and Chives Potato Chips, Zesty Lime and Chili Corn Chips, and Lightly Seasoned Corn Chips.

The company said it made Simply to show consumers that better-for-you chips can be simple and tasty, without complex ingredients or jargon.

Lyndy Cohen, an Australian nutritionist and dietitian and HealthyLife board member, spearheaded the launch as its spokesperson and nutrition expert.

“It is so encouraging to see snack brands developing better for you options that still satisfy tastebuds,” said Cohen. “Opting for better for you snacks, rather than less nutritious snacking options, may also make a positive impact on your wellbeing.”

Both corn and potato chips are made with local ingredients and achieved a Health Star Rating of 4.

The new Simply range of potato and corn chips have an RRP of $4.30.
