Mandatory Spirit to launch premium cocktail in a carton

Australian beverage brand Mandatory Spirit has teamed up with Tetra Pak to launch a cocktail range in carton packages.

The range which includes two flavours – Sour Grape & Vodka and Sour Apple & Vodka – is produced in Victoria and comes in 1L Tetra Pak aseptic carton packages and is sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan.

The company says the 1L cartons have up to five times less impact on climate change than glass and are more than two times more traditionally effective than polyethylene terephthalate bottled beverages.

Mandatory Spirit co-founder, Mark Collins, said he is “excited” with the launch and added consumers can have fun drinking their favourite cocktails while purchasing and disposing of the packaging in a far more sustainable way.

“Tetra Pak is always looking for like-minded brands with shared goals and visions when it comes to bringing exciting product innovations into the market, as well as advancing the circular economy in Australia,” said Jaymie Pagdato, marketing director of Tetra Pak.

Consumers can recycle the used cartons at kerbside collection points where they can be transported to a SaveBoard recycling facility and turned into sustainable building materials for homes and offices.

The products are available in First Choice retailers nationally for $20 per carton with further flavours launching later this year.
