Pet food manufacturer Prime100 has partnered with Tetra Pak to launch SPD (single protein diet), a new premium dog food range that comes in Tetra Recart, a carton with a low carbon footprint.
The product launch also marks Tetra Pak’s entry into the country’s pet food market.
SPD offers a single source of slow-cooked protein that caters for all breed types and ages of dogs, including those with food-based allergies and sensitivity.
In addition, it aims to increase levels of key vitamins, minerals, essential amino and fatty acids.
The flavours include lamb & blueberry, kangaroo & pumpkin, duck & sweet potato, chicken & brown rice, salmon & pumpkin, lamb & rosemary, and crocodile & algae oil.
Prime100 CEO Jason Gray said the collaboration showcases the companies’ commitment to providing the best pet nutrition while prioritising sustainability.
“Together, we’re poised to redefine Australia’s pet food industry, establishing new benchmarks for quality, sustainability, and pet well-being,” said Gray.
Tetra Pak says Tetra Recart helps keep food fresh, even at room temperature, without preservatives.
Consumers can drop the used cartons at curbside collection points, which can be sent to SaveBoard recycling centres.
Boris Munster, MD of Tetra Pak ANZ, said partnering with Prime100 will help boost sustainability in Tetra Pak’s portfolio through product and packaging innovation.
“It’s great to see a homegrown pet food brand drive thought leadership in the category,” concluded Munster.
“We hope it’ll inspire more brands to switch to more sustainable packaging to help reduce carbon footprint.”
Prime100’s SPD range in Tetra Recart is available nationwide at Petstock, Petbarns, and select vets nationwide for an RRP of $ 5.99 to $8.49 per unit.
