Vodka maker Grainshaker, gin maker Four Pillars, RTD brand Curatif, and wineries Cape Mentelle and Cherubino all won major awards at this year’s International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) held in London this week.
The IWSC judges proclaimed Grainshaker as vodka producer of the year, and Four Pillars – for the third year – as best international gin producer.
“We want to be part of the cultural fabric and win our home market,” said Trent Fraser, CEO at Top Shelf International, the maker of Grainshaker.
“We’ve got a loyal and strong customer base here in Australia, but this win will help us expand into international markets like Asia and the USA where they also appreciate our vodka – not to mention help put Australia on the map as a global spirits powerhouse.”
Curatif bagged the title of RTD producer for the second year, while Cape Mentelle took home the old vine trophy.
“Who knows; perhaps there should be a world’s best Four Pillars x Grainshaker x Curatif canned Vesper in our collective futures,” said Matt Sanger, MD at Curatif, while likening the IWSC to the Oscars.
Cherubino won the white wine producer award.
