Western Australian honey producer Australian Rare has launched its brand of luxury honey in Harrods in London.

The collection includes three variants as well as an 888-piece limited edition batch. Each numbered jar is gold plated, with a handcrafted Australian timber cover and hand-blown glass honey dipper, according to the brand.

“We are also aware of our whole supply chain, sourcing the packaging, using reclaimed timber, making sure everyone involved is paid a fair wage,” said one of the founders, Rick Bains.

“We believe our commitment to sustainability, authenticity and craftsmanship has made us stand out.”

The new line intends to provide a luxury and healthier alternative to typical giving items including wines and champagnes.

‘It’s appropriate for those who don’t drink. It transcends cultures as a gift of prosperity, good health and good fortune.” added Bains.

“We knew the packaging had to match, otherwise we wouldn’t be doing this magnificent honey justice”
