Petcare retailer Billy + Margot has released Billy + Margot Insect Single Protein + Superfood, an alternative protein source derived primarily from black soldier flies.
The product contains an alternative protein source derived from black soldier fly larvae cultivated under “quality-controlled circumstances”. According to the brand, the ingredients have hypoallergenic qualities, which eliminate allergy issues often associated with animal protein and grains.
The product also promotes healthy digestion with the help of all-natural TruMun postbiotics, which help balance the good and bad bacteria in the dog’s gut.
The new product is billed as setting a new industry benchmark for innovation and sustainability, as the insect production process takes less food, water, and space than conventional animal protein sources.
