SPC reportedly in talks to merge with The Original Juice Co

Source: SPC/Facebook

SPC Ardmona is in talks with The Original Juice Co for a potential merger, The Australian Financial Review (AFR) has reported.

The Original Juice and former Victoria Premier Jeff Kennett and SPC chairman Hussein Rifai are leading the discussions for the merger, which aims to form a locally-owned group of agricultural assets that can help farmers compete with international rivals.

The potential deal will also expand SPC‘s product offering and enable it to venture into new markets.

Should the deal push through, SPC Ardmona will own 75 per cent of the combined entity, according to the report.

Last year, SPC raised $20 million from Goulburn Valley residents, allowing the latter to become shareholders once again in the company.

SPC is a major employer in the region, with 470 permanent staff and as many as 1000 workers during peak seasonal times.
