ADVERTORIAL: Chinese opportunities abound at Trade Expo

409 304Thousands of new products lines will be on display in Sydney this month at the Huizhou Products Expo, to be staged at the Hordern Pavilion from May 25 to 26.

Almost 70 of China’s biggest manufacturers will be represented at the two day event, which will not only present buying opportunities but the chance to see just how far manufacturing in the world’s largest economy has progressed in recent years.

The Chinese Government is making a concerted push to move away from “Made in China” manufacturing to “Created in China” brands. To do this, regional governments are offering tax incentives, subsidies and other concessions to encourage the manufacture of higher value added products.

For Australian retailers this means better quality products, better lines of communication with Chinese suppliers and a better range of products and services they can offer their retail customer base.

Huizhou Products Expo coordinator, Cindy Xin of Ausfeng Events, says the free event is also a great opportunity for Australian companies to learn more about dealing with China at a business-to-business level.

Xin says, “The key to a successful business relationship in China is personal contact. There is no substitute for meeting face-to-face with your Chinese business partners and there is no greater guarantee in getting the best prices and the best service from suppliers.

“The Huizhou Products Expo will feature some of the latest products and designs across a wide range of manufacturers, this gives Australian businesses a great opportunity to meet with potential suppliers and gain a great insight into doing business with China.”

Products from 10 different categories will be on display at the Huizhou Products Expo, including: Ultra High Definition LED TVs, home appliances, telecommunications devices and accessories, hardware, kitchenware, gifts, clothing, footwear, musical instruments, sporting goods, air purifiers, furniture and many more.

Though Huizhou is not a well known to many Australians, it is home to China operations for more than 30 Fortune 500 companies. Xin also points out that, “Huizhou’s economy is growing at twice the national average and it forms part of the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone, internationally recognised as China’s most dynamic trade region—responsible for 30 per cent of China’s total exports.

“Doing business is Huizhou puts you at the cutting edge of China’s economy.”

With a population of five million Huizhou is located just outside Guangzhou the capital of Guangdong Province. There are direct flights to Guangzhou seven days per week from Sydney and four other Australian cities. Guangzhou and Sydney have been sister cities since 1986 and the New South Wales government has a permanent trade office in Guangzhou.

A senior Chinese provincial trade delegation will join the Expo in Sydney, it will be officially welcomed by New South Wales Premier Mike Baird on the May 25, 2015.
