Barbeques Galore, JBS launch in-store branded fresh Aussie meat trial

Retailer Barbeques Galore and meat processor JBS have formed an unusual collaboration stocking packaged meats in stores and allowing customers to taste meats cooked in stores during sampling.

“Our team worked to develop this initiative in the hope of developing a new sales channel for our branded meat products while also enhancing the customer experience of Barbeques Galore customers,” said Brad De Luca, marketing manager at JBS.

JBS will demonstrate a range comprising Riverina Angus beef, Great Southern lamb and Seven Point pork in an eight-week trial at three stores in Queensland.

“As a single business, JBS have the range to supply beef, lamb and pork products to fit with the needs of Barbeques Galore, and have the scale needed to roll this out post trial to the national footprint of stores,” said De Luca.

“As we continue to refresh our stores and brand, we have started to introduce new formats with an enhanced customer experience and extended range,” said Angus McDonald, CEO at Barbeques Galore.

“Pairing Australia’s best barbeques with high quality, Australian meat is a partnership that simply made sense.”
