Aldi is introducing a permanent 20 per cent discount on a range of fresh meat, poultry, seafood, and deli products in response to the cost-of-living pressures facing its customers.

Australia’s third-largest supermarket said the move should make a “meaningful difference” for customers. It is also investing more than $170 million into permanent price reductions for 300 products.

“No family should have to treat dinner like a maths equation, or cross high-quality meat off their shopping list because budgets are tight,” said Jordan Lack, CCO at Aldi Australia.

The reduced products include lamb, bacon, beef mince, and beef silverside.

“Cost of living pressures remain front of mind for many families. That’s why we’re focused on keeping quality groceries affordable every day and helping customers make their dollar go further with Aldi prices,” Lack added.

“These permanent reductions across some of the most popular proteins families buy are real savings that can make a meaningful difference at mealtimes.

“Families are already doing everything they can to stretch their budgets, so if we can help make quality meat more accessible at the lowest possible price, then that’s exactly what we’ll do.”
