Viva Energy Group has reported higher convenience sales for the third quarter, supported by improved offers.
The company’s convenience sales for the quarter ended September 30 rose 3.8 per cent year-on-year.
Convenience gross margins averaged 37.9 per cent, in line with 37.7 per cent in the first half, but lower than the prior comparable period due to stock adjustments and accounting processes following the implementation of the new supply chain.
The convenience supply chain transition has been complete, with the WA distribution centre commencing deliveries this month.
The company said this will enable it to exit the Coles Product Supply Agreement by the end of November, and begin optimising suppliers, range and delivery processes.
Convenience and mobility fuel sales volumes grew 1.1 per cent, reflecting strong performance of the company-controlled network (OTR, Reddy Express and Liberty Convenience). Retail fuel margins were flat.
“Viva Energy delivered a strong trading performance across all divisions in the third quarter,” commented Viva Energy Group CEO Scott Wyatt.
“Commercial demand remains robust and the convenience business also continues to perform well, with continued growth in fuel demand and convenience sales particularly encouraging.”
