Steggles brings back ‘Host a Roast’ for children’s charities initiative

There’s something special about the way a humble roast draws people together. And this July, it’s even more special thanks to Steggles.

Whether you’re celebrating Christmas in July or keeping the family tradition of Sunday Roast alive, make sure the Family Roast is on the table.

Not only will it help bring the whole family together, but it’ll also help sick kids in need. That’s because, this July, Steggles is donating 30c from every Family Roast purchased to help kids and their families doing it tough.

Host a roast is a heartfelt initiative designed to help raise funds for various Aussie Children’s Charities such as Ronald McDonald House Charities, Children’s Cancer Institute, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, and LifeStart to name a few. The best bit is that shoppers don’t need to do anything – just purchase a Steggles Family Roast from their nearest Woolies or Select Independent stores and Steggles will donate 30c.

Steggles via its aptly named Charity Nest has a long history of giving back and supporting Aussie Children’s Charities. Since 2010 the Steggles Charity Nest has raised over $13 million, through various partnerships and fund-raising initiatives.

“The Steggles Charity Nest has been a national corporate partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia (RMHC) since 2013,” said Amy Holton, national corporate partnerships manager at Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“It is our national kitchen partner and supports our programs via both cash and chicken product donations, events supporting the ‘Host A Roast’ campaign every July, and also regularly visits our houses to cook for our families after a long and stressful day at the hospital,” she said.

“Since our partnership began, Steggles has provided over 11,629 nights worth of accommodation for families with seriously ill and injured children across Australia. We feel so honoured to work with such a wonderful company and their passionate and dedicated staff, who go above and beyond to show their commitment to supporting wonderful children’s charities like RMHC, through its Steggles Charity Nest.”

Together, we can continue to bring warmth, joy, and much-needed assistance to those who need it most, so join us in making this July a month to remember through the simple act of sharing a delicious chicken roast meal. Simply head down to your local Woolworths and select Independent stores, and grab a Steggles Family Roast today.
