Despite Covid, Sydney Fish Market will hold its biggest and most popular event – the 36-hour Seafood Marathon – again this year, promoting seafood ranges for the festive season.

Sydney Fish Market’s event will run for two days from December 23. Participants will have access to a wide selection of premium, local seafood and products they need for this festive season.

“The 36-Hour Seafood Marathon is typically our most popular event but, as we come to the end of a year like no other, it is set to be a different experience for our shoppers this 23rd and 24th of December,” said Greg Dyer, CEO of Sydney Fish Market.

Due to the on-going Covid-19 situation, a series of safety measures will be applied.

Last year, the event attracted more than 100,000 visitors and sold approximately 370 tonnes of seafood. This year, visitors are encouraged to avoid visiting during peak times and travelling in groups.

“While we want to make sure that everyone gets their Christmas seafood supplies, it is also incredibly important to us that we are able to do this within a Covid-safe environment,” Dyer said.

“Shoppers can also rest assured that their seafood favourites are in ample supply. Our experienced retailers are prepared for the high demand for popular favourites like prawns and oysters, and are always striving to ensure customers receive the best price.”

Customers can also pre-order online and have their orders delivered home during the marathon.
