Australian confectionery brand Double D has launched 100-per-cent naturally sweetened gummy bears low in sugar and high in fibre.
Founded in 1920, the company has launched its first-ever Smart Sweet collection starting with Berry and Sour gummies. They are made from prebiotic fibre, naturally sweetened with stevia and are vegan.
Addressing current market innovations and customer demand for better confectionery, director Justin Hughes said: “Our new gummies are packed with prebiotic fibre that improves gut health, almost no sugar and no nasties, giving these a score of 5 health stars, meaning you can now enjoy a bag of lollies and feel good about it.”
The brand has recognised that its customers want vegan options and has since introduced Smart Sweets made with pectin.
The 35g Berry gummies are priced at RRP $2, while 50g Sour gummies are priced at RRP $2.70.
They are on sale at supermarkets including Woolworths, IGA, Coles and selected pharmacies.
