Re.stor launches water-free cleaning products

New Zealand start-up Re.stor has launched a range of water-free cleaning products into Woolworths supermarkets.

The brand’s water-less cleaning alternatives such as laundry detergent sheets, cleaning tablets and refill bottles will tackle the issue of single-use plastic waste from traditional cleaning products.

The laundry detergent sheets are 100 per cent dissolvable, plastic-free, hypo-allergenic, and made from naturally derived ingredients. They are travel friendly due to their small size and weigh 90-per-cent lighter than traditional laundry liquids.

Re.stor co-founder and sustainability advocate Renee Lee said this new approach will have a full-circle impact.

“If every Australian made the switch to Re.stor, we would not only be doing a world of good for the environment by reducing waste and our reliance on a broken recycling system but would be putting money back into customers’ pockets,” she said.

She said customers can do a year’s worth of washing with just two boxes of Re.stor Laundry detergent sheets.

Woolworths laundry category manager Cal Davies said fascinating innovation is taking place in the category and Re.stor is a great example of this. The supermarket has become the first stockist of the brand.

The products will be available in more than 500 Woolworths stores nationwide and online. The Laundry sheets retail for $14 while the Cleaning tablets and Refill bottles retail for $6 each.
