Linfox deploys its first electric delivery truck for Coles

Linfox Logistics has unveiled a new electric truck for Coles, boosting the sustainability cred of both companies.

The Fuso eCanter will service several Coles stores in NSW, loading products from the Eastern Creek Distribution Centre and stopping at Coles supermarkets and Coles Local stores.

Executive chairman of Linfox, Peter Fox explained how the switch to electric vehicles can make a difference.

“As a leading logistics provider that has traditionally relied on fossil fuels to transport goods, Linfox has made a commitment to finding alternative sources of energy to power our customers’ supply chains,” said Fox.

Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific president and CEO, Daniel Whitehead added that both companies have long relied on the regular Fuso Canter to deliver goods, and this addition will help move towards a zero-emission future.

Linfox will use findings from this and other electric vehicle trials to better scale integrated solutions across its distribution networks in Australia.

Last year Linfox added an electric truck to its fleet servicing Carlton & United Breweries, operating in Melbourne.
