Vitaco Health launches Athena Sports Nutrition for women

Vitaco Health has launched a range of protein powders, supplements and snacks under the Athena Sports Nutrition brand, targeting female athletes.

“Women have different biological needs for their bodies. Identifying these specific needs and targeting them through tailored nutrition can support peak performance and health,” Advanced
Sports dietitian Sally Walker said.

“Athena Sports Nutrition is designed for the biological needs of women so they can push their performance. This product range focuses on aligning the biological needs, lifestyle and training demands of female athletes to deliver unique performance nutrition support for females.”

The new products will be paired with +Factors, ranging from iron, collagen, calcium and electrolytes.

“We knew from our success with Musashi, that there was a huge gap for a specific female sports nutritional product. Female athletes have different nutritional needs to fuel their body, and within the current market, there wasn’t a product dedicated to optimising those needs,” said Athena Brand lead Cristy Riddell.

Meanwhile, the company has named footballer Kyra Cooney-Cross, netballer Kim Ravaillion and basketballer Emma Clarke as Athena ambassadors.

Currently, the products are available at Chemist Warehouse and online at athenanutrition.com.au. They will go on sale at Coles stores beginning next month.
