Nestle launches plant-based meat alternative

(Source: Nestle)

Nestle has introduced Maggi Rindercarn, an alt-meat product with plant-based proteins designed to help customers maintain a balanced diet.

The soy and spice blend, currently available in Chile, provides customers with plant-based proteins at an accessible price, according to the brand.

“Our team of experts and chefs developed a tailored solution which brings an equivalent amount of protein in an affordable way to consumers in Latin America,” said Swen Rabe, head of Nestle’s product and technology centre for food.

The launch is part of Nestle’s strategy to develop solutions that blend animal and plant-based components while optimising nutrition, affordability and sustainability.

It comes after the test introduction of a plant-based protein blend in 2022, which was created to supplement egg meals nutritionally and inexpensively across Latin America.

Nestle has also expanded in the food range with recent launches such as Maggi Soya Chunks or Maggi Veg, both of which are meat alternatives.
