Spice manufacturer McCormick has opened its upgraded sustainability-focused facility on the Sunshine Coast site after seven months of construction.
The facility, developed in collaboration with Aerofloat and McNab, will be able to process 25 to 40 cubic metres of wastewater per hour, with a 500-kilolitre holding capacity, which will strengthen sustainability and efficiency in operations while enabling output and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
The company states that the factory will enhance the brand’s ability to scale and meet growing market demands by reducing waste disposal costs and mitigating overflow risks.
The facility is estimated to realise around $27.9 million in total economic impact in the region and is to create around 90 local jobs.
“As we continue to expand our international presence, we’re investing in smart infrastructure to uphold our high standards in trade waste management,” said MD Paris Golden.
The Sunshine Coast Council was a key supporter of the upgrade, providing the brand with development assistance.
