Independent Pharmacies Australia (IPA) has appointed Paul Church as GM, merchandise and consumer marketing.

The move is intended to strengthen the group’s leadership as it accelerates the rollout of its new ‘IPA Community’ model and expands support across its national network.

Church brings over 30 years of retail leadership experience from major Australian businesses, including Coles, Kmart, Officeworks, and most recently, 7-Eleven, where he managed a non-fuel merchandise portfolio valued between $1.6 billion and $1.7 billion, focusing on supplier partnerships and digital channel expansion.

Church succeeds Darragh O Se, who recently departed the organisation for a senior merchandising role at Woolworths-owned Big W.

Church will be responsible for leading merchandise and consumer strategies across several member networks, including: Advantage Pharmacy, Alliance Pharmacy, Pharmacy Catalyst, Chemist Discount Centre, and IPA Community.
