The Coca-Cola Company has ended its first fiscal quarter under newly-appointed CEO Henrique Braun, with the global drinks giant continuing to grow sales.

Increasing quarterly net revenues to $17.4 billion (US$12.5 billion), a 12 per cent increase year-on-year, Coca-Cola said it managed to achieve an operating margin of 35 per cent.

Coca-Cola Zero grew by 13 per cent quarter-on-quarter, followed by Diet Coke’s at 6 per cent, and the original Coca-Cola drink at 2 per cent.

The group said that juice, value-added dairy, and plant-based beverages declined in sales by 1 per cent. Water, coffee, tea, and sports beverages grew by 5 per cent.

“We’ve had a strong start to the year,” said Henrique Braun, CEO of The Coca-Cola Company. “Our performance this quarter reflects our unwavering focus on staying close to the consumer, executing locally, and managing complexity.

“Yet there’s so much more we can do as we navigate a dynamic environment. Our team is motivated by the opportunity to build on the company’s great foundation.”
