New Zealand-based health supplement brand The Good Vitamin Co has issued an urgent product recall for specific batches of its ‘Kids Good Multi’ following consumer reports of adverse allergic reactions.

The recall was announced in a post on the company’s Instagram after consulting with Medsafe, New Zealand’s medical regulatory authority.

Kids Good Multi is a children’s multivitamin dietary supplement, supplied as soft-chew and fruit-flavoured gummies.

The safety intervention comes amid growing consumer scrutiny, with some parents reporting that their children experienced unexpected allergic symptoms after consuming the soft-chew supplements.

The recall affects three specific product formats and batch numbers:

Kids Multi Gummies (90s): Batch GV011015.

Kids Multi Gummies Value Pack (160s): Batch GV011017V and Batch GV011018V.

“If you or your child is currently taking Kids Good Multi gummies from the affected batches, stop taking them immediately,” warned Medsafe.

The brand initially pulled the affected batches from distribution channels in late April, but formal public notifications were extended this week.

Consumers who have purchased any of the impacted batches should return the product to the place of purchase for a replacement or refund and report any side effects to the Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring (CARM).

Parents whose children have experienced adverse reactions are advised to seek medical advice if necessary.

Last year, Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) put a raft of changes to how products containing vitamin B6 are packaged and sold.
