Coles has named Chad Burke as GM of customer fulfilment centre (CFC) operations, following his leadership of the retailer’s pet business Swaggle.
Burke joined Coles in 2016 and has held leadership roles across the retailer’s commercial, liquor and digital divisions. Before joining Coles, he worked at Tesco and Waitrose in the UK.
Most recently, Burke led Swaggle, Coles’ online pet retail venture, which launched in 2024 as part of the supermarket group’s push into Australia’s fast-growing pet care market.
The business expanded into physical retail with its first Melbourne store before Coles announced in March that it would close the operation, citing changing customer demand and a shift in strategic priorities.
In his new role, Burke will oversee Coles’ CFC operations, focusing on driving operational excellence and strengthening the retailer’s omnichannel customer experience.
The appointment reflects Coles’ continued emphasis on enhancing its fulfilment capabilities as it invests in its online grocery network and omnichannel operations.
