Alison Watkins was paid almost $2.5 million in her first 10 months as the head of drinks company, Coca-Cola Amatil.
Watkins has been MD of the company behind Coca-Cola, Mount Franklin, and Powerade in Australia and Indonesia since March 3, 2014.
She earned $2.45 million in the period to December 31, including a base salary of $1.8 million and bonuses of almost $600,000.
Coca-Cola Amatil’s annual report also shows that Peter Kelly, the head of the company’s canned food company, SPC Ardmona, who helped secure a $100 million government rescue package, was paid a fee of almost $900,000 when he stood down on March 31, 2015.
Earlier this month, Coca-Cola Amatil launched Coca-Cola Life in Australia, in an effort to its local fortunes around by targeting health conscious consumers.
Coke Life is the first major brand from Coca-Cola in Australia to combine sugar and the natural sweetness of stevia, and has 35 per cent less sugar and kilojoules compared to regular Coca-Cola.
