Nestle has announced that Kit Kat Studio, the concept store that caused a frenzy in Sydney, has launched in Melbourne to celebrate the brand’s 80th birthday.

Open for eight weeks over the Christmas period, the Melbourne Central store will give customers the opportunity to create their own custom made Kit Kat from a range if 17 premium ingredients including salted caramel; raspberry pieces; pink rose petals; and caramelised meringue.

A range of  flavours have also been created for the festive season including  Spiced Christmas Pudding; Butterscotch Fudge, Pretzel, and Pecan; and Cranberry, Pistachio, and Coconut Macaroon.

Chris O’Donnell, head of marketing, Nestle, said the company is excited to bring a bricks and mortar presence in Melbourne following its positive response in Sydney:

“Kit Kat Studio was such an incredible success in Sydney with over 25,000 Kit Kats sold. We’re so excited to be able to bring it down to Melbourne and to continue giving Australians a world-first opportunity to create and sample completely new flavours,” he said.

Award-winning pasty chef, Anna Polyviou, has been commissioned by the company to release two of her own limited-edition flavours as part of the launch.

“I had so much fun with Kit Kat Studio in Sydney, I just had to be involved when it was coming to my hometown. I know everyone in Melbourne’s going to go nuts for this and I can’t wait to see what flavours people come up with”, said Polyviou.

The store is located on the ground floor of Melbourne Central, 211 La Trobe St, and is open until 17 January.
