Australian Made’s new directors

australian madeNot for profit organisation, Australian Made, has welcomed a number of Australian business leaders to the company’s board.

These appointments, announced at the company’s AGM in Canberra, include Fiona Simson, VP, National Farmers Federation; and Richard Holyman, CEO, Martin & Pleasance.

Executive chairman of Coopers Brewery, Glen Cooper, was reelected as the board’s chairman.

Company CEO, Ian Harrison, said that the strategic direction provided by the board had been instrumental to the logo’s success, specifically regarding the federal government’s announcement it would be integrating the symbol into its new mandatory country-of-origin labelling scheme.

“Trust and recognition of the Australian Made, Australian Grown logo has never been higher , almost 2,500 businesses are now using this symbol on approximately 15,000 products sold around the world,”  Harrison said.

He also paid tribute to departing directors, Alf Cristaudo, and Robert Gerard, for their contributions to the company.

“The Australian Made Campaign is particularly grateful to Robert Gerard, who has volunteered his time as a Director for more than a decade, driving the establishment of critical policies and providing invaluable insights over the years,” Harrison said.
