Priceline Pharmacy reaches 1 million health checks

Priceline Health StationPriceline Pharmacy has announced they have reached more than one million health checks on their exclusive digital health stations around the country since it started in 2015.

The company said in a statement it is an important point of difference for the brand as no other pharmacy in the country has these stations which assess five physical measurements including: height and weight for Body Mass Index, blood pressure, heart rate and body fat percentage; as well as lifestyle and family history questions.

“We understand that our customers want options when it comes to all areas of their retail experience, including their health and beauty services. Providing people with the choice of quickly checking their health on these stations while shopping for their health and beauty products means we are ahead of the market,” said Priceline Pharmacy CEO and managing director, Richard Vincent.

Pharmacy said in addition to the personal benefit to customers, the results of the health checks have uncovered insights into the health of Australian men and women, with Aussie women coming out on top in every aspect of the health checks.

On average women recorded a ‘Heart Age’ 5 months older than their actual age with men recording an average 4.5 years older than their actual age. Men were also 3.5 times more likely to have a high
body fat percentage compared to women.

Although women’s health results were better in comparison to men overall, there were surprising results for women including 49 per cent who were classified as either overweight or obese and 15 per cent had either high or very high blood pressure.

“An important part of managing your health is knowing your numbers so you can track how you’re progressing over time and keep yourself accountable. Using these convenient digital health stations allows you to monitor yourself often, meaning you can adjust your diet and exercise routine to improve your results and overall health,” Priceline pharmacist Regina Cowie said.

There are close to 200 digital health stations around the country in Priceline Pharmacy stores. The stations are free for customers to use and only take about 3 minutes either privately or with the
assistance of a pharmacist. They also offer full Women’s Health Checks with a pharmacist, flu vaccinations and other health services. A full list digital health station locations at ww.pricelinebeauty.com.au.
