Recall of Woolies cleaning product

Woolworths ShutterstockWoolworths is recalling two domestic cleaning products due to a faulty child resistant cap.

The Essentials Domestic Cleaner Regular 1.25L  (ID 335172) and Essentials Domestic Cleaner Fresh 1.25L (335173) with use by dates up to and including June 2019, are potentially harmful in the home.

The faulty cap could cause the product to leak, with the poisonous substance inside posing a threat to customers and possible damage to property.

The supermarket giant is advising customers with this product to immediately dispose of the contents wearing gloves. This should be done by flushing the detergent down the sink with plenty of running water and wipe any affected areas with a damp white cloth.

Customers must rinse the bottle and cap with water before presenting to any Woolworths supermarket or Metro store for a full refund. Alternatively customers can present a purchase receipt.

The defective products have been sold in Woolworths and Metro stores nationally from April 2016 to 18 July 2018.
