The Australian Retailers Association (ARA) are proud to announce the 2018 eftpos ARA Australian Retail Awards, the country’s largest and longest running national retail awards program, celebrating the breadth of talent across the dynamic and ever-evolving retail landscape.
The Australian Retailers Association (ARA) are calling all retailers to put themselves forward to be recognised in the country’s largest and longest running national retail awards program, the 2018 eftpos ARA Australian Retail Awards.
This year’s awards themed, The Retail Realm: thinking outside the shop, will touch on every element in the retail sphere including customer experience, technology, payments, sustainability, supply chain, business growth, employee development and corporate social responsibility. With 13 awards up for grabs across three retail categories – customer experience, retail workers and industry leaders – the ARA encourage retailers of all sizes to submit an entry before Friday 10 August.
Naomi Simson, founding director of online experience retailer RedBalloon, will be the ARA’s keynote speaker for this year’s Awards. Known for her regular appearance on Network Ten’s popular television series, Shark Tank, and bringing a wealth of business knowledge across various elements in retail, the ARA are excited to host such an innovative and passionate retailer for this year’s Awards.
With the ARA’s submission deadline just around the corner, the ARA’s panel of experts will be looking for exceptional retailers – from independent owner-operators, national brands, industry innovators and inspiring employees – who think beyond the shopfront.
To judge this year’s most prestigious retail event, the ARA have searched the industry for exemplary retail professionals who are not only skilled in the technical aspects of retail, but have been influencers in the sector themselves.
The 2018 eftpos ARA Australian Retail Awards judging panel includes Warwick Ponder, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications at eftpos Australia, Bernie Brookes AM, Adjunct Industry Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology, Camille Reed, Founder of Australian Circular Fashion (ACF), Rupert Deans, Founder of augmented reality platform Plattar, and Radinck van Vollenhoen, Country Manager of Stocard, Australia’s leading mobile wallet app.
As the retail industry is a vital part of the Australian economy, the ARA believe it’s important to recognise the leaders and workers in retail through industry driven events, as retailers across the country can learn and gain insights into, how they can grow their business and build further opportunities for the retail industry as a whole.
The 2018 eftpos ARA Australian Retail Awards will be held on Thursday 18 October at the iconic Myer Mural Hall in Melbourne, a venue rich with retail history and known for its revolutionary nature.
