Turban Chopsticks takes home eight AFA awards
The 2018 Australia Food Awards (AFA) awarded natural food maker Turban Chopsticks with eight silver and bronze medals at the Royal Show Food Awards in WA and Victoria. AFA is an annual event organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria to recognise businesses in the Australian food industry.
Turban Chopsticks gained a Bronze medal recognition for its Thai Red Curry, Butter Chicken and Satay Peanuts Sauces. Its Thai Green Curry paste was awarded with the prestigious Silver medal. The food company was also given another four medals – one Silver (Thai Green Curry) and three Bronze (Butter Chicken, Satay Peanuts and Thai Red Curry) – in the 2018 Pantry Goods Awards by the Royal Agricultural Society of Perth.
Mei Yong, director of Turban Chopsticks, said that the awards they received has added more “spice” to their product range on a national scale.
“We make all our product ranges with fresh local produce, we develop recipes that are authentic to the real kitchen flavours of India and Asia that you can bring back to your own kitchens, and we believe in offering deliciousness for all people with gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, diabetic-friendly and allergen-friendly dietary needs,” said Yong.
“Achieving a total of eight medals from the Royal Agricultural Society in both WA and Victoria is a great win for us as we continue to innovate and make our product ranges available all over the country.”
Turban Chopsticks products are sold at IGA, select Woolworths stores and specialised grocery stores. It has now expanded with the new Turban Chopsticks Food Service Range, which is offered at Australian restaurants, cafes, delis, hotels and all food outlets.
The curry pastes and savoury bites are all allergen free. The recently released Turban Chopsticks Food Service range include:

- Savoury Bites Pre-Mix 2kg (Onion Bhaji, Chickpea Koftas, Lentil Fritters, Bombay Burgers)
