Cobs’ latest snack a fusion of popcorn and chips

Popped-Chips_Launch_Website-NewsSnack company Cobs has unveiled a new snack that combines the taste and texture of both popcorn and chips.

Pop’d Chips contain a mix of potato, rice and corn, which have been whipped up by combining heat and pressure to create a crispy chip. It is cooked with High Oleic Sunflower oil and added seasonings.

“Pop’d Chips have 60 per cent less fat than a regular potato chip, without losing the flavour and crunch that chip fans love and expect. Over the past 14 years, Cobs has established itself as a leader in the ready-to-eat popcorn category, and we’re now taking our knowledge of ‘better for you’ snacks into the development of this flavour-packed chip range,” said Kristie Ellerton, head of Marketing at Cobs.

Cobs created three new flavours of Cream & Chives; Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream and Salt of the Sea. Cob’s new Pop’d Chips are available at Woolworths and independent supermarkets nationally for RRP A$4.00.
