Poll: High potential in cannabis-infused products?

ID:268431412

ID:268431412Cannabis has been a hot topic in FMCG ever since major beverage brands Coca-Cola and Pepsi were reported to be in talks about potential cannabis products.

Just this week, it was reported that the NSW government is growing eight different varieties of medicinal cannabis at a secret regional location to work out the best growing conditions for the crop.

While recreational cannabis use is still prohibited in Australia, the growing hemp market in Australia shows that attitudes about uses for the plant are changing.

ASX-listed hemp and cannabis group Elixinol Global recently welcomed former Asahi Premium Beverages CEO, Greg Ellery, to its Board of Directors, a move which is set to better position the company to  become a leading FMCG player in the cannabis sector.

“Elixinol Global has created an exceptional brand with a unique leadership position in the hemp and CBD markets across the globe,” Ellery said in a statement following his appointment.

“I look forward to utilising my background in leading consumer packaged goods companies throughout the USA, Japan, Europe and Australia to support the fast growth Elixinol is experiencing while also providing guidance on effective corporate governance practices.”

Today we’re asking, what you think about the potential of cannabis in FMCG? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
