Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has appointed Greg Barnes as the chief financial officer of the group. He brings nine years of experience at this level in Nine Entertainment and CSR Limited.
“Greg joins Amatil at a time when we are drawing on our strong financial foundations and our resilience through the COVID-19 pandemic period with a view to emerging even stronger and better than before,” said CCA managing director Alison Watkins.
Barnes helped lead the acquisition of Fairfax as a member of the executive team at Nine, creating a A$3 billion entity. He will commence in the role in June 2020.
In April, Amatil revealed plans to cut costs by A$140 million following a dip in demand for its products in the last quarter amid the COVID-19 outbreak and bushfires. Watkins said that the company worked to protect jobs amid the major impact on volumes.
