Australian Pharmaceutical Industries will construct a new 32,506sqm NSW distribution centre at Marsden Park to improve its supply-chain capabilities.

The $75 million facility on Hollinsworth Road will boast environmentally sustainable features such as solar power and rainwater harvesting, as well as an automated storage system, integrated mezzanine and 7440sqm basement for vehicle dispatch,” said API GM supply chain and consumer brands Jim Redfern.

API is the parent company of Priceline Pharmacy, Soul Pattinson Chemist and Pharmacist Advice.

“The new distribution centre will provide significantly greater operational benefits through a leading-edge automation system and smart warehouse design that maximises floorspace and promotes safety and sustainability.”

“We ran a highly competitive property procurement process to ensure API’s bespoke operating needs were accommodated,” said Jack Moroney, director of API’s specialist property and supply chain partner TM Insight. “Our team now look forward to continuing to work on behalf of API and alongside [developer] Sydney Business Park to project manage the delivery of this purpose-built solution and integrate the automation into the base building. This will ensure API are ready to operate efficiently from day one of the lease.”

“With over $1 billion of investment committed to date, it is pleasing to see Marsden Park growing into one of Sydney’s largest employment centres,” said Sydney Business Park’s development director Owen Walsh, “and that we are on track to deliver 23,500 jobs for Western Sydney.”

The site is likely to be operational in late 2022.
