NSW-based family-owned and operated Harris Farm Markets has expanded its footprint in Queensland with the first Gold Coast store to open on the Isle of Capri at Via Roma.
Taking over space previously occupied by The Greener Grocer, the grocery chain has employed 10 of the grocer’s staff and is recruiting about 60 more to run the new store.
The Via Roma store will offer a range of local fruit and vegetables, as well as a gourmet grocery section of local products, a bakery section and a premium meat selection.
“It will be a flavour-filled showcase of Queensland and Australian fruit and veg under one roof,” said Luke Harris, co-CEO at Harris Farm Markets.
“Queensland is famed for the richness and range of fruit and veges grown across the state, and to be able to work with so many wonderful producers is one of our dreams.”
Harris Farm Markets returned to Queensland late last year, opening a store on the site of the former Clayfield Markets in November, with a second store scheduled for West Village later this year.
