Food processing company In2Food has acquired a Sydney-based supplier of fruit and vegetables, MD Provodores.

According to In2Food, the acquisition will make it one of the largest suppliers of fresh and processed produce to hotels, restaurants and cafes in Sydney.

“Our purchase of MD Provodores brings two strong food companies together,” said Brett Jackson, managing director of In2Food.

“The combined company will position In2Food as the leading supplier to the HoReCa market in NSW and strengthen our position as the pre-eminent national player in the sector.”

The deal features the processing facility of MD Provodores and its experienced staff. The leadership team, including founder and director Mouhamad Dib, will also join the leadership team of In2Food.

MD Provodores was founded 18 years ago in Sydney’s Flemington Markets. The company, along with its subsidiary Slice + Dice, has supplied more than 550 venues across Sydney with fresh, pre-cut fruit and vegetables.

“We are building a vibrant, energetic and sustainable food business with both a national and local footprint,” added MD Provodores’ owner and founder, Mouhamad Dib

“MD Provodores currently supplies more than 550 venues in the Sydney area. As part of In2Food, we will be able to service more than 1000 venues, with all food delivered fresh before lunchtime.”

The takeover will grow In2Food’s network to 500 employees, 110 trucks, and facilities in every capital city except Hobart, serving more than 5000 customers nationwide.
