LMG expands Harry Brown big box liquor store network

Australian liquor retailer, Liquor Marketing Group (LMG), is expanding its Harry Brown’s store network with four new stores planned to open this year.

The expansion will take the number of Harry Brown big box liquor stores to nine, up from five last year. Another two stores are scheduled for next year.

The group recently opened a 500sqm Harry Brown store in the Victorian coastal town of Torquay after rolling out a store at Reef Gateway Hotel in Airlie Beach last March. The company said two other stores are set to open in Victoria and Queensland.

Harry Brown recorded a 27 per cent year-on-year increase in annual sales for the 12 months to last April, while online sales grew more than 42.5 per cent in the same period.

“E-commerce provides a fantastic additional revenue opportunity for our Harry Brown retailers. In fact, the average basket size online is more than double the average in-store transaction,” said Matt McEvoy, GM at Harry Brown.
