Quorn launches vegan dinosaur-shaped nuggets

Alt-meat brand Quorn has rolled out vegan dinosaur-shaped nuggets called Roarsomes.

The brand says it is the country’s first meat-free nuggets made with the company’s signature mycoprotein coated with breadcrumbs.

The mycoprotein is high in fibre and low in saturated fats. It also uses less land and water than animal protein production and is a source of protein.

Aggie Vlotman, senior brand manager at Quorn, says eating less meat is becoming more important now.

“Meat-free is no longer a trend. It’s a lifestyle many consumers choose, to do their bit towards eating better for their health and protecting the environment.

“What’s exciting is that the younger generation is playing a big role driving sustainability as the focal point of their food choices and in their quest to push change for the good of our planet.”

The product sells for $7 and can be found in the vegetarian freezer section at Coles, Woolworths and independent grocers.
