Melbourne coffee roaster Bean Alliance Group has entered into a binding agreement to buy the assets of Coffex Coffee.
Once the acquisition is complete, Coffex Coffee will be part of Bean Alliance’s portfolio of coffee brands.
Founded in 1959, Coffex Coffee was known for its “timeless coffee blends” sourced from the coffee-growing regions of the world and roasted in Melbourne.
The company entered into administration last November and was managed by the global advisory firm, Ankura.
“The sale to Bean Alliance is a great result for Coffex and its stakeholders, including its employees and creditors, as well as its loyal customer base,” says administrator Liam Healey.
He added the sale will include the retention of jobs while the company continues its operations under the stewardship of its new purchaser.
Bean Alliance CEO Ange Augello said the team at Bean Alliance was “inspired” to see Coffex Coffee and wants to ensure the brand’s continuity of services and supply of roasts.
